Short seq: Lifting main plumbing equipment into metal barracks. The equipment consists of waste storage tanks, sump tank, fresh water tank, etc. Takeoff of C-54 on old runway. Gen J. Lawton Collins and party leave plane, are greeted, leave in car. Slate 28 July - Int Air Force Operations hut. Two officers at counter, another officer on opposite side. One man fills out papers, Caption says in preparation for flight plan. MS, of the three officers. Two of them talk while third one fills out form. The Operations officer has clerk get him another form which he puts before the two men. The names: Capt Keefe Green, Briefing Officer; Capt James Nall, Pilot, and Co-Pilot Lt John M. Reynolds. Int of the Weather Office, 8-24 Weather Det, 8th Weather Squadron, HQ Pepperill AFB, Newfoundland - that's a sign hanging from the ceiling. Two Sgts work on chart and map. Int. Men seated at tables in snack bar. In the background, three men at counter. This MS as man behind counter gets donuts. July 29 - A few shots of the Assistant Sec of Army Earl Johnson arriving with his party. One woman with her back to camera is greeted by one of the welcoming party - this may be Mrs. Johnson. Additional footage of the visit of Senators Wayne Morris and Russell Long.
